Well the holiday season is here. Ihad a little time to myself the past few days and was thinking how can I give back to everyone in the "season of giving?" Well thats when that infamous light bulb went off inside my head and thought "how bout a sports blog". Well here it is the once famous Vincent's View Point has made its return to the information super highway. Before we move on here I just want to let everyone know that I will try and update the blog at least two or three times a week. So stayed tuned to my myspace page or on the board to my faithfull readers at setxsports.com. Congradulations go out to our three remaining high school football teams left in the playoffs. In 4A the Beaumont Central Jaguars have reached the Class 4A Divison I State Quaterfinals. This is the fartherst any Jaguar team has made it in the playoffs so kudos goes out to Coach Stowers and the wonderful job he has done their. Next up for the Jags will be Friendswood on Saturday night at 6PM in the Woodlands. Southeasttexas also has two 2A teams strolling through the playoffs as well. Kirbyville will take on Altair Rice at Humble's Turner Stadium Friday night at 7:30. Newton will face Daingerfield at Carthage's Bulldog Stadium 2PM Saturday afternoon. Good luck to the remaining local teams.
Now the BCS is somewhat looking good with Alabama remaining at #1. What will happen to the Big 12 South? Texas,Texas Tech, and Oklahoma will find their fate out later today when the latest BCS standings come out. The team with the highest BCS rating this week will be rewarded a trip to the Big 12 Championship Game next Saturday. I guess that is the only way to work it out . In my opinion Oklahoma will move over Texas to #2 in the standings with their impressive wins over Texas Tech and Oklahoma State the past couple of weeks. Sorry Longhorn fans but hey at least at BCS Bowl berth is still in the horizion as well as a Heisman Trophy?
In the next week or so we will know what bowl games everybody will be headed to. Once the anouncements come out I will predict each game on the Bowl Schedule and predict that I will have an above normal precentage. Here's my BOLD prediction of the week. Oklahoma will jump Texas in the BCS standings and eventually win the Big 12 Championship game. Florida will defeat #1 Alabama in the SEC Championship game and it will be the Sooners and Gators in the National championship game. Ok thats my viewpoint for now. Check back in the middle of the week for a new one. Feel free to leave comments, opinions, or Longhorn fans can show their digust at me.
