Vincent's View Point 12-15-08

Coming fresh off another great sports its time for another Vincent's View point. Sunday was a good day for Texas football fans. The Houston Texans played a hard fought game and came out on top of the Houston Oile....errr I mean the Tennessee Titans. The Texans have won four in a row now and have a really good chance at finishing the season above 500. Dont be suprised if by next year they will be in AFC wild card hunt as long as everybody stays healthy. Meanwhile the Drama prone Dallas Cowboys came away with a much needed win against the New York Giants on Sunday night. Tony Romo got beat up pretty bad by the Giants defense but, the Cowboys defense did a wonderful job. It was funny how NBC interviewed Whiten,Owens, and Romo after the game. It's funny how everybody is all smiles and seem to like each other after a win isnt it? The Cowboys close out Texas Stadium on Saturday night while the Texans head to the west coast to face the Raiders.
I had the chance to check out the YMBL Basketball Tourney on Fridady and Saturday with fellow setxsports broadcaster Mike Sanchez. Ozen fell to Aldine in the championship game on Saturday but it was a great weekend for basketball. After the championship game at the Montagne Center on Saturday we stuck around for the Lamar game against Texas Tech. I was really impressed by the crowd and by the way the Cardinals played. No doubt that is the biggest win of the season so far for Coach Rock and his team. Now the question is will the crowds keep showing up to the games like they did on Saturday? I surely hope so because this a really good Cardinal team and they have a chance at a special season. So get your butts out to the Montange this season and support your local college team. Even if your a Longhorn,Aggie,LSU Tiger or whatever else I think you have a responsbility as a fan to go out and support your local college where you live.
Congrats to Coach Alverez and the Kirbyville Wildcats on a sensational season. The Cats' fell to Muleshoe on Saturday night in the 2A State Championship game. Im sure it may sting right now for the kids, coaches, and communities losing the game but Kirbyville has nothing to hang their heads about. The Dayton Broncos will be playing in the Class 4-A, Division II, State Championship against Sulphur Springs on Saturday at 2PM in the Alamodome. Good luck to the Broncos. Ive been kind of hard on them lately because I have never considered them a local team but I understand its hard for them to get coverage down here and Houston because they are in no man's land. Good luck to them and bring back a State Championship! Thats the Viewpoint for this Monday. Everybody feel free to leave comments if you want to. Have a great Monday everybody!
